Trump’s Favorite Social Platform: Truth Social
“Now is the perfect time to buy! DJT.” Recently, U.S. President Donald Trump posted on his social platform Truth Social, calling on the public to make purchases promptly. Just a few hours after this post, the U.S. government announced a 90-day suspension of tariffs on multiple countries, causing global stock markets to surge. This led to Taiwanese netizens humorously referring to Trump as “Trump Advisor,” while also drawing significant attention to Truth Social, which provides timely updates on Trump’s news.
Recently, the U.S. has implemented a reciprocal tariff policy, creating a shockwave worldwide, and the external world is closely watching Trump’s every move. Currently, Trump primarily uses Truth Social, which has over 9.5 million followers, making it an important platform for understanding his statements and gaining insights into international politics and stock market trends.

What is Truth Social? Where does “Trump Advisor” make announcements?
Truth Social is a social platform launched by Trump in 2022, owned by Trump Media & Technology Group. It currently does not have an official Chinese name and can be literally translated as “True Social” or “Truth Social.”
The establishment of this platform can be traced back to the turmoil in the U.S. Congress in early 2021, when Trump was accused of inciting violence through social media and was banned from numerous platforms, including Twitter (now X) and Facebook. Subsequently, he decided to create his own social platform, which is why Truth Social was launched a year later.
Trump has claimed that Truth Social is a platform that is not controlled by tech giants and truly values freedom of speech. After its launch in 2022, it briefly topped the App Store download chart. According to Bloomberg, after Trump’s election victory last November, Truth Social had about 355,000 daily active users, a growth of around 3% compared to the previous month, but it still lags significantly behind mainstream social platforms.
Trump has about 9.5 million followers on Truth Social, making him the account with the most fans on the platform. However, compared to over 100 million followers on X, it may still seem relatively small.

What does DJT signify in Trump’s posts?
In Trump’s widely discussed “buy in” post, one of the focal points is the ending “DJT.” DJT is an abbreviation of Trump’s name, Donald J. Trump. The Associated Press mentioned that Trump occasionally tags this in his posts on Truth Social to emphasize that the post is written by him.
However, the issue is that DJT is also the stock symbol for Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social, which went public via SPAC last year. There is much debate about whether Trump is promoting his company, and currently, the U.S. government has not provided an explanation for this post.

Regardless, this post has become a focal point for many critics. “He likes to control the market this way, but he should be careful,” said former White House ethics lawyer Richard Painter, noting that securities laws prohibit trading on insider information or helping others to trade, “Those who bought after seeing the post made a lot of money.”
Available on Google Play/App Store: Taiwanese People Can Also Use Truth Social
Although Truth Social currently does not support a Chinese interface, Taiwanese citizens who want to follow Trump’s news can still use the website directly or download the app through Google Play and the App Store.
Taiwanese users can also find the download page for Truth Social on Google Play/App Store.

The account registration process for Truth Social is not significantly different from mainstream social platforms, requiring information such as a phone number (those without a phone must apply via email) and an email address. The only important note is that the platform currently only allows users aged 18 and above. Truth Social’s UI layout and features are very similar to X and Threads, making it easy for users familiar with these platforms to get started quickly.
The account application process for Truth Social is similar to that of other social platforms; however, the platform claims to only offer services to users aged 18 and older.

It is still difficult to determine whether Trump’s actions regarding reciprocal tariffs have promoted user growth on Truth Social, but for those wanting to keep track of tariff war dynamics in real-time, Truth Social is undoubtedly one of the platforms to pay attention to.
