ETHTaipei 2025 Event Grandly Kicks Off
The “ETHTaipei 2025,” an annual Ethereum event, grandly commenced today (1st). This year, it marks the first collaboration with the internationally renowned hackathon organizer, “ETHGlobal,” making it unprecedented in scale. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, also known as “V God,” rarely participated for two consecutive days, engaging in deeper exchanges with Taiwanese developers.
Before the official inauguration of the “ETHTaipei 2025” event, Martinet, the Developer Relations Director of Quantstamp and one of the key preparatory members, took the stage first to introduce the event to the audience.
Continuing the enthusiastic response from last year’s “temple fair” theme, Martinet cleverly introduced the topic of Taiwan’s unique “divination culture” at the opening.
Martinet explained that divination in Taiwan’s traditional culture is a ritual to seek guidance from deities by tossing two half-moon shaped divination blocks, interpreting the deities’ will based on the combinations of the sides showing.
He then pulled out a specially designed pair of divination blocks from his pocket, which were not made of traditional wood or bamboo, but crafted from unique symbols representing Ethereum. He invited the audience to propose a wish regarding Ethereum’s ecological development or technological questions.
Immediately, an audience member shouted out: “The price of Ether!”
The price performance of Ethereum has been a focal point of attention for cryptocurrency investors. This is because many investors originally expected Ethereum to exhibit strong growth momentum during this bull market; however, actual market data shows that Ethereum’s price fluctuations have been relatively stable compared to other cryptocurrencies.
This steady price trend has left some market participants disappointed, leading them to humorously suggest that Ethereum is the real “stablecoin.”
In response to the various market inquiries regarding Ethereum’s price, Martinet held the pair of divination blocks made from the “Ethereum” symbol, turned to the audience, and with a hint of humor, posed the question that all investors were eager to know: “Can Ethereum break through the $10,000 mark by 2025?”
As soon as the question was thrown out, it elicited an enthusiastic reaction from the audience. They held their breath, hoping the tossed blocks would provide some kind of “oracle.”
After Martinet tossed the “Ethereum blocks,” the result was revealed—a “laughing cup.” The audience erupted in laughter upon seeing the result.
However, in Taiwan’s divination culture, a “laughing cup” does not signify that the deity “mocked the question,” but rather that the deity smiled without providing an answer. In other words, this question may not be the most important at the moment, hence there is no need for a response.
“This result is just as I expected; we are gathered here because we are builders, and we build together,” Martinet concluded with a smile, “The price of Ethereum is actually not the most important.”
This innovative opening not only successfully attracted the attention of all attendees but also elevated the atmosphere to a climax in a short period.
What Are the Highlights of This Year’s Exhibition?
ETHTaipei 2025 not only focuses on in-depth exchanges in blockchain technology but also creatively integrates rich and diverse interactive experiences, successfully creating a grand event that blends technology and culture.
Let’s follow in the footsteps of “WEB3+” to see what interesting things this event has to offer!
Highlight 1: No Boundaries in Music! Open Music Stage for Impromptu Performances
Throughout the event, there is an open music stage every day, providing electronic drums, keyboards, guitars, basses, and other instruments, allowing attendees to freely showcase their musical talents. During lunchtime, the Home Band is invited for impromptu accompaniment, creating a highly interactive musical exchange atmosphere.
Highlight 2: The Collision of Art and Technology, Live Painting by Anime Art Masters
This year, the exhibition specially invited internationally renowned artist SHINN UCHIDA to the scene. SHINN UCHIDA’s unique style and fame in international anime exhibitions are well-known. This time, he will blend anime and technology in a unique style, creating anime art on-site, adding a rich artistic atmosphere to the event.
Highlight 3: A Close Look at Project Booths
The event site has carefully planned multiple project booths, allowing attendees to get close and deeply understand the various products and services that are constantly innovating and striving within the Ethereum ecosystem. These booths are not just static displays but dynamic interactive experiences. Each project team has prepared rich display content and interactive segments, allowing attendees to learn about the latest technological advancements, experience innovative products and services, and engage deeply with project teams to explore collaboration opportunities.
Highlight 4: Authentic Taiwanese Flavor! Closing Party with V God and Traditional Banquet
The organizers provided indoor banquet and catering food at the exhibition site, allowing participating developers to fill their stomachs while exchanging technical ideas and savoring local Taiwanese cuisine. On the final day of the event, the organizers will host a traditional Taiwanese banquet in front of the Dadaocheng Temple, allowing blockchain developers from around the world to experience authentic banquet culture in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin will also personally attend the event, enjoying Taiwanese cuisine with attendees and celebrating this grand occasion together.
