The Intersection of AI and Blockchain
AI tools have been invading people’s daily lives in the past two years, becoming the focus of technology trend discussions. On the other hand, blockchain technology, also considered a new technology, has seen a decrease in popularity and has even sparked discussions about “Who is the true third-generation Internet (Web3): AI or blockchain.”
At the WEB3+ “Block Spot Gathering” forum in November 2024, the topic of “The Intersection of AI and Blockchain” was discussed by Taka, Chairman of the Blockchain Enthusiasts Association, Kordan, Founder and CEO of KryptoGO, and Sofia Yan, Co-founder and Chief Growth Strategist of Numbers Protocol.
An Essential Intersection in the Future Internet
What is the intersection between AI and blockchain?
Taka first pointed out an important concept that, despite the current popularity of AI and many blockchain enterprises adopting it, the concept of AI has been applied in the fields of data science and big data for a long time. The current blockchain technology is based on these solid foundations and is beginning to integrate with AI.
“The use of AI technology in Web3 is not just to follow trends but is driven by the needs of the future internet architecture,” Taka said.
Regarding this “need,” Kordan gave an example that AI and blockchain are essential foundational elements in the future internet because they can form a strong connection and achieve synergies in various aspects.
He explained, “AI can accelerate the development of the Web3 world, while blockchain can ensure the security and privacy of AI applications.” KryptoGO, founded by Kordan, focuses on combining AI technology with blockchain applications, especially in the digital asset security and compliance fields. He explained that KryptoGO’s technology combines facial recognition with blockchain to create secure digital identity verification and applies AI to blockchain asset management to enhance system credibility and operational efficiency.
Kordan also mentioned that blockchain technology is crucial for enhancing the credibility of AI systems, especially with the rise of generative AI where the generated content is not entirely reliable. Blockchain technology can trace the source of data to ensure the authenticity of AI-generated content.

Does AI Need Blockchain Support?
Referring to tracing the source of data, Sofia shared the specific application of Numbers Protocol in the integration of AI and blockchain. She pointed out that instead of focusing on how blockchain can help AI, it is more important to explore how AI can achieve data transparency and traceability with the support of blockchain.
As early as 2018, Numbers Protocol began deepening its work on the traceability of image content, especially in the context of the spread of fake news, verifying how AI-generated content can be validated was a major challenge. To address this issue, Numbers Protocol uses blockchain technology to upload information such as the generation process, location, and time of each image or video to ensure its authenticity and traceability. This not only effectively prevents the spread of fake news but also allows content creators to protect their copyright assets.
Numbers Protocol has collaborated with Taiwanese media this year to track and verify images during the presidential election period, and the company has also worked with international media to enhance content transparency and credibility.
In the future, as the blockchain industry matures, the collaboration demand between AI and blockchain will only increase. It is certain that both are indispensable foundational technologies for entering the Web3 era.
