2024 AI TAIWAN Future Business Expo
Co-organized by “Business Next” and the Department of Digital Development, Digital Industry Bureau, and TCA, the “AI TAIWAN Future Business Expo” is themed “AI DRIVING NEW BUSINESS” this year. It kicked off on July 27th, bringing together over 250 top companies and solution providers to showcase the endless possibilities and applications of AI. The event attracted over 10,000 attendees, and Vice President of the Republic of China, Lai Ching-te, also attended to demonstrate the government’s emphasis on industrial AI and highlight the vision of “AI as a national strength” for the next generation.
6 Major Theme Pavilions × 10 Key Technologies, Experience the Ubiquity of AI in Life
Despite being impacted by Typhoon Kompasu, the originally planned three-day expo was forced to only exhibit for one day. However, all exhibitors spared no effort to make the most of this day. This year’s AI TAIWAN Future Business Expo not only planned 10 key technology exhibition areas including Gen AI model deployment, AI smart devices, cloud and cybersecurity, sustainability and zero carbon, Web 3.0 and blockchain but also created 6 major theme pavilions to allow visitors to experience the ubiquity of AI. These pavilions include: Future AI Pavilion, AI Life Pavilion, AI Audio-Visual Lab, New Business School, Sustainable Manufacturing Institute, and WEB3+ Lounge, showcasing the application of AI in different fields.
When Vice President Lai Ching-te visited the booths in person, she exclaimed that the development of AI not only amazed people but also made them truly feel that technology has gradually permeated into people’s lives from technical strength to actual implementation, leading to greater expectations for future development.

In the “AI Alliance Pavilion,” Tai-Zhi Cloud integrated various open-source large language models and down-to-earth FFM traditional Chinese enhanced large model series to create Taiwan’s first enterprise-level enhanced traditional Chinese language model, showcasing technological prowess. Additionally, AMD also showcased AI PC server performance and powerful computing capabilities on-site to help visitors better understand how AI will enhance work efficiency. In the “Future AI Pavilion,” Vice President Lai Ching-te personally experienced the positivity and innovation of startup teams in AI landing development.
The “AI Virtual Human Intelligence Service Platform” created by AiFou, combined with ChatGPT generative language model technology, exclusively launched an AI smart customer service application developed using a vector retrieval architecture. And Bayer Medical, specializing in medical imaging and molecular medical analysis, quickly provides bone density risk reports by analyzing X-ray images with a dedicated AI module in the “AI Osteoporosis X-ray Screening” product.

Finally, Vice President Lai Ching-te also experienced a new lifestyle in the “AI Future Life Pavilion.” Including smart restaurants, smart cafes, and even future daily AI technology applications portrayed by SHARP ✕ iDrip smart coffee machines, Logitech’s AI intelligent conference video equipment, Yixin digital service’s smart ordering machines, and Yo-Kai Express smart ramen machines. Vice President Lai Ching-te anticipates not only industrial AI but also the imagination of AI life, which will trigger a more intelligent and better life for humanity.

Innovation Business Award winners announced, Finance, Medical, and Retail Leading the Way
The highlight of the annual AI TAIWAN Future Business Expo: the Innovation Business Award winners were also announced on the 27th. To encourage the integration of new technologies, creativity, and business, focusing on discovering innovative business model paradigms centered around consumers, capturing the characteristics of communities, and utilizing interactive technology, “Business Next” has been organizing the Innovation Business Awards for ten consecutive years. By recognizing outstanding companies’ innovative paradigms and sharing experiences and exchanges, more opportunities for Taiwan’s industries to upgrade are expected.
This year, 213 companies participated in the awards. At this moment when generative AI is prevailing, AI innovation applications have more diverse and rich aspects. The grand prize was awarded to Carrefour Taiwan Co., Ltd. for the “Carrefour Speed Match Intelligent Recipes,” Cathay Financial Holdings Co., Ltd. for the “GDP Group Data Sharing Platform and Group Data Sharing Project,” and Union New International Hospital (Neurology Center) for the “Union New Stroke Regional Joint Defense AI Remote Referral Platform.”

The gold prize for Best Management Innovation Award was also won by Union New International Hospital (Neurology Center) for its product, the Union New Stroke Regional Joint Defense AI Remote Referral Platform. As for Carrefour Taiwan Co., Ltd., its product, the Carrefour Speed Match Intelligent Recipes, was honored with the gold award for the Best Experience Innovation Award.
The gold prize for Best Business Model Innovation Award was awarded to the service provided by He Yun Mobile Service Co., Ltd., iRent Shared Car Platform; the gold prize for Best Product Innovation Award was taken by NetSmart Co., Ltd., for creating the Fast Compliance AI Advertising Copy Violation Risk Inspection Platform. The gold prize for Best Technology Innovation Award was awarded to Cathay Financial Holdings Co., Ltd., for the Ripple Financial Intelligence Network Service. CEO Chen Su-lan of “Business Next” also stated in her speech, “AI is not only the core force driving digital transformation but also the key to leading and reshaping future business models. It is hoped that this year’s AI TAIWAN Future Business Expo can become a catalyst for industry cooperation, promoting technological exchange, accelerating innovative applications, and creating more possibilities for the future.”

“2024 AI Industry Landing White Paper” makes its debut, experts point the way to kickstart AI future business
Despite various considerations and challenges in the application of AI in industries, this year’s “AI TAIWAN Future Business Expo” collaborated for the first time with “Business Next” to release the “2024 AI Industry Landing White Paper” with multiple industry consulting experts, focusing on AI application aspects to address the pain points that companies face when implementing AI. Leading AI pioneers were also invited to provide unique insights and viewpoints, guiding companies in a practical and high-value manner, offering the most suitable AI solutions.
At the same time, in response to the changes in the agenda caused by Typhoon Kompasu, the “AI TAIWAN Future Business Expo” also provided online live streaming, allowing industry experts to advocate for five major topics: AI industry ecosystem, AI new business applications, MarTech marketing evolution, Web3 industry trends, and borderless new retail. This enables more people interested in the development of the AI industry to participate without being limited by time and geography, continuously exploring new business trends, seizing opportunities in the new era, and unlocking unlimited new possibilities for future business in the AI era!
