Google Offers 5 Free Courses to Easily Get Started with AI!
AI is trending, but do you really understand what “generative AI” is?
To help the general public better understand the outline of current generative AI, Google has recently released five basic AI courses on the Google Cloud platform, starting with an overview of generative AI from the basics.
The courses start from simple concepts and gradually extend to the model architecture of Encoder-Decoder in NLP (Natural Language Processing). This not only allows those interested to have a better understanding of the basic principles of AI operation but also provides beginners who are interested in learning AI development with an opportunity to lay a foundation!
Let’s take a look at the courses!
Course 1: What is Generative AI?
Let’s start with the most basic question! This introductory course mainly explains the definition and usage of generative AI, as well as the differences between this AI and traditional machine learning methods.
The course also introduces various Google tools to assist users in developing their own generative AI applications.

Course 2: What is Large Language Model?
The next course will explain the definition and usage of Large Language Models (LLM), as well as how to adjust prompts to improve the effectiveness of LLM.
This course also introduces multiple Google tools to help you develop generative AI applications on your own. If you are interested in incorporating AI into your daily work, you must first understand how to use prompts!

Course 3: What is “Responsible AI”?
This course focuses on reminding developers about the principles of AI development.
Since AI does not have built-in human ethics and perception abilities, it lacks awareness of legal norms, social customs, and cultural differences in human society. Therefore, as developers, you can understand the necessary limitations when developing AI through this course to avoid creating AI with malicious intentions!

Course 4: How to Generate Images with AI?
AI can not only quickly generate articles and help you organize complex information but also “draw images” according to your needs! But do you understand how the underlying functions work?
This course will introduce Diffusion Models, a machine learning model that has shown great potential in the field of image generation. The concept is derived from physics, particularly influenced by thermodynamics.
In Google Cloud, Diffusion Models serve as the foundation for many advanced image generation models and tools. The course will introduce the theory behind Diffusion Models and explain how to train and deploy these models on Vertex AI.

Course 5: Understanding the “Encoder-Decoder Architecture”
Even if you haven’t used AI, you have probably used Google’s translation function. In fact, AI’s machine translation, text summarization, and ability to interact with users rely on the Encoder-Decoder architecture.
Therefore, this course will explain how the Encoder-Decoder architecture is applicable to “sequence-to-sequence” tasks such as machine translation. You will also get to know the main components of the encoder and decoder architecture and learn how to train and provide these models through step-by-step instructions in the corresponding lab. You will learn how to use TensorFlow to write programs from scratch and introduce a simple encoder and decoder architecture to generate poetry.
