Introducing the First “Blockchain Financial Crime Investigator”! Why is XREX Creating These Unique Talents?
In the second episode of the “Anti-Fraud, Anti-Money Laundering” series, Miffy Chen, an advocate commissioner of the Judicial Reform Foundation (JRF), continues to share her experience and stories of fraud prevention over the past decade. She analyzes the key elements of fraudulent cases and explains how to store and report evidence after being scammed, potentially reducing financial losses. This knowledge is valuable for law enforcement agencies and victims alike.
To start off, Miffy will become XREX’s first “Blockchain Financial Crime Investigator.” She is dedicated to assisting industry players, law enforcement and judicial units, and civil organizations in investigating illicit activities in blockchain finance, deterring criminal groups from using cryptocurrencies for fraud and money laundering.
It is important to also pay attention to whether our friends and family are experiencing “fake investments,” “fake emotions,” or “fake mentorships” scams. If they are, what methods can we use to help them escape the trap of fraud?
In addition to reporting the crime, how can we use simple tools to gather evidence, improve the completeness of the case, and successfully file a report? Based on Miffy’s experience, victims often feel ashamed after being scammed and are reluctant to inform their family and friends, allowing the culprits to continue evading the law. In such situations, how can we, as their loved ones, assist the victims? And how can the victims know if standing up for themselves can truly lead to justice?
In Taiwan, the threshold for handling cryptocurrency-related cases is still high. However, Wayne and Miffy are confident that with the use of coin flow tracking technology, increased public awareness of fraud prevention, and more successful cases being filed by the police and prosecuted by the judiciary, we will be able to effectively trace and deter criminals involved in these illegal activities.
Wayne and Miffy also share Taiwan’s first case in the program, where cryptocurrency assets obtained through fraud were successfully seized and returned to the victims without any accused individuals. This case, achieved through cooperation between the police, exchanges, and the JRF, will become an important precedent in the history of the judiciary.
Wayne mentioned in the program that due to Miffy’s years of dedication to anti-fraud activities in civil organizations, she will continue to assist anti-fraud groups in helping victims as a member of XREX. Wayne also called for anyone in need of professional fraud coin flow analysis to contact XREX and Miffy, as they will do their best to provide assistance.
