Get Your Hands on “Crypto Handheld Consoles”! You Must Know These Three
Blockchain gaming is not as imaginary as you think, it can actually be held in your hands! Recently, there has been a lot of discussion about “crypto handheld consoles”. For example, the BitBoy One, a bitcoin gaming console and cold wallet, was launched last week. This week, we have the SuiPlay0x1, and the Solana Saga, a well-known smartphone in the Solana ecosystem, both of which are portable devices that allow you to play games and support cryptocurrencies.
Although some of these products are not yet on the market, this article will analyze the features of each device based on existing information to see which one is more suitable for you!
Recently, there has been a lot of discussion about “crypto handheld consoles” that can be held in your hands.
First Console: BitBoy One
BitBoy One, a blockchain gaming platform developed by Ordz Games, is mainly targeted towards Bitcoin ecosystem users. This handheld gaming console is inspired by the classic Nintendo Game Boy in terms of its design, with colors that resemble the iconic orange of Bitcoin.
In addition to playing games on the Bitcoin blockchain, BitBoy One can also be used as a cold wallet to manage assets. According to the media outlet “Decrypt”, this gaming console can also be used as a miner to participate in the DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network) project. However, BitBoy One cannot mine Bitcoin, as that task is still reserved for more expensive and power-consuming specialized mining computer equipment.

BitBoy One will be equipped with the RockChip RK3566 processor, a 3.45-inch 640×480 screen, 32GB of memory, a 256GB TF memory card, 4GB of RAM, and a 3,500mAh battery. It can last for about 6 hours on a full charge. It is expected to be priced at around $500 and will be launched before the end of the year.
Second Console: SuiPlay0x1
“SuiPlay0x1,” developed by Sui blockchain developer Mysten Labs in collaboration with handheld gaming operating system company Playtron, is a handheld gaming console similar to the Steam Deck. It mainly supports cross-chain games in the Sui ecosystem. In addition, users can also play games from platforms such as Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as non-Sui cryptocurrency games.
In an interview, the officials mentioned that they do not rule out the possibility of using reward mechanisms to attract users to purchase SuiPlay0x1, such as providing free tokens, cryptocurrency assets, or exclusive discounts for Sui users, etc.

Currently, Mysten Labs and Playtron have not disclosed the price range for SuiPlay0x1, nor have they provided detailed explanations on how token rewards will incentivize buyers. However, Playtron CEO Kirt McMaster revealed that the price of SuiPlay0x1 will be “affordable” and have enough appeal to attract new users into the world of cryptocurrencies, breaking the “anti-crypto” mentality of many gamers.
Third Console: Solana Saga
The Solana Saga smartphone, created by Solana Labs, is not specifically designed for gaming, but it integrates deeply with the Solana blockchain, making it capable of supporting the ecosystem’s crypto games.
However, according to reports, the current drawback is that developers have not provided a wide selection of Solana games in the Saga decentralized application store.
The Saga phone is built by OSOM and features 512GB of memory, 12GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 processor, a 50-megapixel camera, a 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED screen, and runs on the Android system. The phone is sold at a price of $1,000, making it a higher-priced blockchain phone.

Initially, this price did not attract many buyers, but later, the official reduced the price to $599 and added incentives such as meme coin airdrops, turning the Saga phone from a slow-selling product into a sought-after item!
Solana Labs plans to launch the “Chapter 2” model next year. In addition to a lower price than the first-generation model, the official revealed that the new phone will also have a wallet application compatible with Solana and the ability to run decentralized applications. It will also adjust its positioning to cater to different consumer groups or market demands. Therefore, foreign media estimates that Chapter 2 will likely see more native chain games that can be played on the Saga phone being developed.
These devices have different attractions for different user groups. BitBoy One is suitable for Bitcoin ecosystem users, while SuiPlay0x1 provides an ideal choice for users who want to play games on the Sui chain. If the price is indeed affordable as claimed by the officials, and the reward mechanism is complete, it is likely to become a hot-selling product worth paying attention to.
For supporters of the Solana ecosystem, Solana Saga, despite its higher price, is still a well-rounded choice in terms of performance and integration.
